2011 Flourishing Daylilies Seedlings  - the seedlings I'm planning to save, partially sorted.
These photos were taken in my seedling field in Montara, about 20 miles south of San Francisco, about a mile from the ocean; usually foggy and cold. Many flowers didn't open flat in those conditions.  We had been living in the suburbs where there wasn't enough room to plant out seedlings.  We originally lived a half hour's drive away, but moved more than an hour's drive from this field. There were many days I didn't get there during my Mom's illness and passing, preparing and selling her house, house-hunting for our own home,  and moving. When I did make it there, I photographed what was open at the time, even if it was not fully open, the flower was past its prime, or it was near sunset.   The wonderful woman who allowed me to plant my seedlings in her field also took many of these photos on days I couldn't make it there and emailed them to me; God bless her! My hybridizing focus is patterned eyes and blue tones (big green throats are a plus). I'm delighted with perfectly round and ruffled form, blunt sepals, but I'm interested in daylilies of all forms
